As Valentine’s Day draws near, Nigerian Afro-Juju legend, Shina Peters, has called on Nigerians to place greater emphasis on their love for God.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmen on Tuesday in Lagos, Peters highlighted that Valentine’s Day serves as an opportunity for people to reflect on God’s unconditional love and sacrifices.
He urged Nigerians to use the occasion to renew their faith and strengthen their relationship with God, viewing it as the ultimate expression of love toward Him.
Peters, who was ordained as a Bishop in the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of God in 2021, stated: “Love is not limited to romantic relationships but encompasses our connection with a higher power.
“By prioritising love for God, we can cultivate a deeper sense of purpose, gratitude, and compassion.
“As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, let us take a moment to reflect on the transformative power of love and appreciate the divine guidance that shapes our lives.”
When asked about his plans for Valentine’s Day in 2025, Peters revealed that he would be performing at two different events.
Valentine’s Day, also known as St. Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is observed annually on February 14. Originally established as a Christian feast day in honor of a martyr named Valentine, it has since evolved into a globally recognized celebration of love, encompassing cultural, religious, and commercial significance.
