Manchester United’s 2022/23 awards night will take place on Monday 29 May and your votes will decide who wins four of the big prizes.
A gala dinner will take place at the Theatre of Dreams later this month and it will raise vital funds for Manchester United Foundation.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this will be the first event of its kind since 2019 and the money raised via an auction will go towards life-changing projects in the community. Learn more about those by visiting www.MUfoundation.org.
There will be lots to celebrate, too, and your opinions are required.
PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
It’s been an exciting season of progression for our men’s team, who lifted the Carabao Cup in March and can still achieve success in two more competitions.
A top-four finish in the Premier League is within our control with three matches left to play, and the Emirates FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium is still to come.
There are many contenders to win the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, so who will you choose? The poll will open on Tuesday afternoon and you can choose from every member of the current squad who has made a competitive appearance.
Our poll to name the United Women Player of the Year will also open on Tuesday afternoon.
Marc Skinner’s side is close to earning Champions League qualification for 2023/24 – ahead of schedule – and could still win the WSL title, if other results go our way.
While Sunday’s historic FA Cup final resulted in a narrow defeat, the team showed great togetherness and is heading in a positive direction.
GOALS OF THE SEASON
We can confirm there will be Goal of the Season awards for both our men’s and women’s teams, as we continue to embrace equity around the club.
Individual shortlists of 10 strikes have been approved by team management and those will be revealed later this week.
The respective winners will be decided by your votes alone, so keep an eye out for the contenders in due course.
PLAYERS’ PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Receiving this prize from your team-mates is a huge sign of respect.
Secrets ballots will take place among our men’s and women’s squads in the coming weeks to determine who wins.
CELEBRATING THE NEXT GENERATION
A panel of Academy coaches will decide who wins the prestigious Denzil Haroun Under-21 and Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year awards.
The same can be said for the Girl’s Academy Player of the Year, which will now be named in honour of development coach Emma Fletcher. Watch our recent video with Ella Toone below to learn more about Emma’s inspirational story.
HOW TO FOLLOW AWARDS NIGHT
The ceremony will be held at Old Trafford on Monday 29 May.
It will not be broadcast live on MUTV as per previous events.
Rest assured, fans can watch every single winners’ moment and acceptance speech via videos in the United App and ManUtd.com.
